Forever captured in wood, we present a laser engraved birth announcement wall hanging.

A picture of the precious newborn child, or any other picture is engraved in wood along with the birth information for you to remember the worldly entrance of someone special.

We use 3/4 inch maple, alder or cherry wood that is hand selected to be clear of all knots or imperfections and then router the edge of the plaque with a Roman Ogee bit like is seen in the photographs.   Finally a keyhole slot is routered into the back of the plaque to allow for flush mounting to the wall. 

The wood is sanded to 400 grit (very smooth) and is ready for laser engraving. 

We laser engrave the picture first and use proprietary methods to provide depth and a 3D effect.  Next we laser engrave the critical information to capture the event.

The size of the wall hanging is 10 high x 12 wide with the picture size being up to 8 high x 6 wide.

We finish the plaque with a combination of bees wax and mineral spirits to treat the wood and to bring out the natural color.
