Our latest offering is a set of 4 personalized coasters.     The coasters are cut from dried wood reclaimed and repurposed.  The wood in it's previous life was the roof rafters for a barn constructed in 1916.   We dismantled the barn to repurpose the wood.   The rafter tree trunks are perfect for the coasters.   The wood is about 120 years old.  The wood is brought into the shop and cut to approximately 3/8 inch thickness on the bandsaw.  The coaster is sanded smooth on each side to a 400 grit smoothness. 

From there the coasters are taken to the laser engraver, and 100% personalized with the saying of your choice.     Your saying will be e-mailed back to you for agreement with a proof cutting before actually cutting on the hardwood.

The engraving lettering is burnt into the wood, and then covered with mineral spirits and beeswax for a nice natural look. 

The back of the coaster is treated the same as the front. 

We currently are making the coasters without the bark on the coasters.   We have had experiences where the bark has come off with use.   

They still look wonderful, but I could not guarantee the longevity of the bark so we are removing it and leaving the live edge exposed.
